- Placing an Order Online
Ordering is quick, easy and secure. Our online ordering system provides you with all the necessary links, prompts and messages to ensure order accuracy and to help you have an enjoyable shopping experience.
Add at least one item to your shopping bag and then go to checkout (or click the Shopping Bag button below the search box).
During checkout, you can select shipping options, add billing and shipping addresses, and enter payment information.
Please review your order before it is final, to ensure everything is correct. You may go back to your shopping bag at any time and make changes to the color, size, or quantity of an item.
We accept the following credit cards for online purchases: Avenue®, VISA®, MasterCard®, Discover®, and American Express®, as well as PayPal. Please note that we do not accept cash, personal checks or money orders. We also do not ship orders C.O.D.
For international orders we accept VISA®, MasterCard®, American Express®, and PayPal. We are not able to accept gift cards as payment for international orders at this time.
At the end of your checkout process, we will provide you with online message notifying you that your order is being processed. You may print this message for your records. Subsequently, you'll receive an official order confirmation via the email address in your account profile.

- Placing an Order with a Check or Money Order
Please note that we do not accept cash, personal checks or money orders for online or phone purchases.
- Placing an Order with a Merchandise Gift Card
If you would like to place an order using a merchandise gift card, simply enter the number of your merchandise gift card in the gift card box at checkout. If the amount on the merchandise gift card doesn't cover your purchase, you will be asked to provide an additional method of payment.
Please note: we cannot accept gift cards as payment methods for international orders.
- Searching & Browsing
The Product Search box enables you to look up an item using a word description. Ex: red blouse. You will then be shown the selections for that item as well as other colors and styles available. You can also browse through the site by clicking on the categories in the left navigation.
- Finding Items from the Catalog Online
Find something in our catalog or direct mail piece you want to purchase? Type the item number from the catalog into the Search field and click "Go".
- Purchasing Avenue® Gift Cards and E-Gift Cards
Avenue® Gift Cards can be used for in-store and online purchases. Available in increments of $10 to $200, gift cards make the perfect gift that always fits! Plastic Gift Cards are shipped via First Class Mail only and will arrive within 5 business days. A shipping fee of $1.95 applies to each Gift Card purchased. Avenue® E-Gift Cards are also available for purchase, but can only be used for online purchases. E-Gift Cards are delivered electronically to the email address chosen, and the purchaser will receive an email confirming the E-Gift Card has been sent. Following standard processing time, E-Gift Cards are sent within the following guidelines: When ordered by 3:00 PM Eastern, Sunday through Thursday, E-Gift Cards should arrive within 24 hours.
When ordered by 3:00 PM Eastern on Friday, E-Gift Cards should arrive within 72 hours.
When ordered by 3:00 PM Eastern on Saturday, E-Gift Cards should arrive within 48 hours. The purchaser's credit card will be charged the amount of the e-Gift Card at checkout.
Please note: Shipping fees may be taxable in some states. We cannot sell gift cards internationally.
- Gift Card & E-Gift Card Terms & Conditions
Gift Cards and E-Gift Cards
For plastic cards, please scratch off the silver strip to reveal the card's PIN number. For E-Gift Cards, the email will contain both the card number and the PIN number. For online purchases, you will be required to provide the card number and the PIN number with each use. Purchase amount will be deducted from the card balance until the value is fully used. Gift Cards and E-Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase other Gift Cards or E-Gift Cards. Please safeguard your card and keep your original receipt. Except in certain circumstances or as required by law, the value of a Gift Card and E-Gift Card, including any remaining balance, cannot be redeemed for cash or check, cannot be applied as payment to any account, and will not be replaced if lost, stolen, destroyed or used without permission. Coupons and Discounts
Coupons and discounts are not applicable towards the purchase of Gift Cards and E-Gift Cards. If your order contains both gift cards and merchandise, applicable coupons and discounts will only apply to your merchandise total, minus any gift cards.
Lost or Stolen Gift Cards and E-Gift Cards
Except in certain circumstances and you have proof of purchase and the card number, Avenue is not responsible for lost or stolen gift cards. Treat your gift card like cash. Keep your original receipt and safeguard your card.
Are Gift Cards and E-Gift Cards Taxed?
Taxes will not be applied to the face value of your gift card purchase; however, the $1.95 shipping fee on plastic Gift Cards may be taxable in AL, AZ, CA, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA and WI.
Can I Reload my Gift Card or E-Gift Card?
We cannot reload gift cards at this time, but you can always purchase a new card.
Do Gift Cards and E-Gift Cards have an Expiration Date?
No. Gift cards do not have an expiration date.
Can I pay my Avenue® credit card balance with my Gift Card and/or E-Gift Card?
No. The value of a Gift Card cannot be applied as payment to any account.
What Happens if I'm Returning Merchandise Purchased with a Gift Card?
If you return merchandise purchased with a Gift Card, you will be issued a return merchandise gift card for the value of your credit.
Can I Dispose of my Gift Card once I've Spent Its Entire Value?
We recommend you hold on to the gift card in the event an item is cancelled from your order, for which you will not be charged. Only after you have exhausted the balance of your gift card, you may dispose of the card. It is not reloadable.
- Sending a Gift
For your convenience, we can include a gift invoice (which doesn't reveal the cost of the gift item) and/or personalized message and ship the gift directly to the recipient of your gift. You can take advantage of our gift service by selecting the gift option during the checkout process.

- Redeeming Coupons Online
Coupon codes may be redeemed by entering the code in your shopping bag in the box labeled "Enter Coupon Code:" and clicking "Apply". The discount will be reflected on applicable items and in your order total.
Please note: avenue.com is only able to apply one coupon code per transaction. Coupons are not valid on gift cards, e-gift cards or Outlet merchandise. Please review the disclaimer on the individual coupons for other exclusions and restrictions.
- The Price in My Shopping Bag Isn't the Lower Price
Check the offer carefully; sometimes only specific colors or sizes are offered at the reduced prices. If the item is offered at the reduced price, you can complete the checkout process and then Contact Us -- we will be happy to issue a credit for the reduced price or send an explanation to you.
