      I usually have a problem with Avenue shoes running a little too wide because I don't really need wide width shoes. But this boot, which I purchased in my correct size, hurt my toes. The boot was stable, but it quickly started rubbing and became quite stable. Also the material is cheaply made, attracts so much dust, that I thought I had purchased used shoes and sent the first pair back, only to receive the second pair and noticed the same problem. It's too bad because they are really cute. But poorly made.

                  I'm a member of the Steampunk community (victorian era with a brass twist) and all the boots I got were tight in the calf or were uncomfortable within an hour of wear. I can wear these to any convention throughout the convention with no problem. Also, I'm in a master's program and they great with any pair of jeans or I wear them with a nice knee length skirt to the office! I have really wide calves (22in at the widest) and I still have plenty of room in these.
